  • Roles/Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and teach lessons from provided curriculum

    • Assist other teachers

    • Connect and establish relationships with the kids in the classroom

    Qualifications/Preferences: Experience with kids preferred but training is provided

    Commitment: 1 year commitment, on duty 2x a month

    Why you should apply? Curious about ActsKids, want to invest in the faith-growing stepping stone years of young lives

  • Roles/Responsibilities: Help care for, play, and watch the toddlers (ages 2-3) during worship time. All mini lessons, crafts, and activities will be provided for ahead of time.

    Qualifications/Preferences (if any): Heart for littles ❤

    Commitment (How long as in a term and/or How frequent): It can be as short as one Sunday or up to once a month. More urgent request is for two volunteers for the following dates this spring: 4/9/23, 4/23/23, 5/21/23.

    Why you should apply? Serving in the Nursery ministry is a great opportunity to get to know some of our toddlers as well as bless the families of Acts to allow for other parents to worship. Nursery ministry is the first step as they learn about God's love for them at this tender age. Even if you can offer your help for one Sunday, that helps so much. If you would like to do it on a regular basis you can help once a month. Summer is also open for any volunteers that would like to help.

  • Description: Consistently attend PC's classes and discuss with your assigned discipler/disciplee along with chapters of the Bible that we are reading together. Each pair also shares struggles, praises and encourages one another to grow in faith. It is one more mature in faith leading another to grow in faith, but also both acknowledging their brokenness and keeping each other accountable as well as praying for one another.

    Roles/Responsibilities: Attend PC's class 7 times per semester and meet consistently after each class with discipler/disciplee going over the class as a basis for discussion as well as the assigned scripture reading (1 chapter/day).

    Qualifications for Discipler:

    • Active and current member of Acts

    • Spiritually mature Christian meaning doing reg QTs, being in the Word, diligently attending services etc.

    • Support this ministry, our church and its Pastors and their teachings

    • Be able to commit time to meet with your disciplee once a week (or a suggestion to follow current Sunday classes schedule throughout the school year with its off-weeks)

    • Be committed to doing a certain approved discipleship material of your choice w/your disciplee for that duration and this entire school year, along with discussion of class material

    • Adhere to teaching the fundamental truths of God's Word in line with ACTS statement of faith (found in webpage-Core Values & Beliefs)

    • Senior in college or older (we want single adults and married couples involved too!)

    Qualifications for Disciplee (Disciple):

    • Disciplees are for sophomores and above(if freshmen, please be in prayer to consider being a part of this ministry)

    • This means anyone post-college as well! We want all to be a part of this ministry including singles and married.

    Commitment: At least 1 yr but full discipleship rotation is 2 yrs as PC has 2 yrs of classes.

    Why you should apply: The Great Commission is for all believers, not just some. We want all who come to Acts mature in faith and be able to reproduce disciples in the future.

    Matthew 28:18-20 The Great Commission: 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

  • Responsibilities:

    • Model/Exemplify striving to walk in faithfulness to Jesus Christ

    • Pray with and for members of the Lighthouse

    • Facilitate group discussion of material

    • Manage weekly logistics and communication

    • Delegate/Share responsibilities for tasks within Lighthouse (ex.: communicating updates, coordinating meals, sharing prayer requests, etc.)

    Qualifications/Preferences:

    • Current, active member of Acts Fellowship Church

    • Desire to help people become more like Christ

    • Willingness to complete the Leader-in-Training Process

    • Recognized by others as a good fit for this role

    Commitment: Multi-year, there is no specific time limit.

    Why apply? One of the most incredible experiences you will have in your faith journey is experiencing God working through you to bring someone else closer to Him.

  • Responsibilities:

    • Help with the planning, execution, and support of new and established church-wide outreach events and opportunities

    • Zoom or in person meeting every other week for 1 hour to discuss with the other committee members how to best reach out and help the city of Austin

    • Prayerfully seek out God's will on how He wants to mobilize Acts to be His hands and feet to the suffering and salt and light to the lost in the city of Austin.

    Qualification: Christian/Cares about Outreach/No life stage restriction

    Commitment Duration: We'd like you to commit to serving 1 academic semester with us and then decide if they would like to stay on for longer

    Why should you apply?

    • Current Committee and Church-wide Need: We need more minds to think about how to best support and encourage our church towards outreach

    • Personal Growth: If outreach/missions/evangelism is something you'd like to grow in, great! Me too. Being a part of this ministry becomes part of the accountability to grow in these areas.

    • Bible verses that hit hard: Hands and Feet: Matthew 25:31-4 Salt and Light: Matthew 5:13-16

  • Roles/Responsibilities:

    • Run slides for sunday worship, announcements, and sermon

    • Prepare slides in propresenter prior to the sunday you are serving. This includes creating lower thirds sermon slides and downloading corresponding announcement slides from google drive

    Qualifications/Preferences (if any): NA

    Commitment (How long as in a term and/or How frequent): Currently on rotation at about once every 2-4 weeks based on availability

    Why you should apply? Back of house serving is a great opportunity for those who don't like having a lot of eyes on them but still want to serve the church. Slides are the visual backbone of a Sunday service as it helps guide the congregation in the flow of service and focus on worshipping while we provide the visuals to help disseminate information.

  • Roles/Responsibilities:

    • Rehearse with worship team on Saturday morning

    • Run the sound board to enable time of singing praise, announcements, offertory prayer, and sermon

    • Turn off sanctuary lights after service

    Qualifications/Preferences:

    • Understanding of how to balance sound for a live band

    • Willingness to learn how to use the sound board and EQ the band

    Commitment (How long as in a term and/or How frequent): Currently on rotation at about once every 2-4 weeks based on availability

    Why you should apply? Back of house serving is a great opportunity for those who don't like having a lot of eyes on them but still want to serve the church. Running sound enables the church to sing praise as an entire congregation with our worship team leading us in praise, and also allows for sermons to be heard clearly to the church body as well.

  • Roles/Responsibilities: Record Sunday sermons using Youtube Live

    Qualifications/Preferences:

    • Willingness to learn the recording software

    • Understand general video framing guidelines for setting up recording (rule of thirds)

    Commitment: Currently on rotation at about once every 2-4 weeks based on availability

    Why you should apply? Back of house serving is a great opportunity for those who don't like having a lot of eyes on them but still want to serve the church. Recording the sermons serve the purpose of allowing us to rewatch sermons and be reminded of the message received and the truth of the gospel. Even though majority of the congregation attends in person, there are cases where people miss here and there and this gives them the opportunity (even if out of town) to catch up on the sermon preached.

  • Roles/Responsibilities: Attend various Acts events and Sunday services where we can capture moments in video and photo of our church members and of the event itself

    Qualifications/Preferences:

    • Willingness to learn photography or videography (basics)

    • Owning a DSLR camera is preferred but not required

    • Understanding of basic photo editing

    • Experience editing videos

    Commitment (How long as in a term and/or How frequent): At least 1 year commitment

    Why you should apply? Photos and videos serve the purpose of allowing the church to look forward to certain events or give them the means to look back at certain events and be reminded of God's work in our lives. Serving in this role might require a good chunk of time commitment capturing and editing content but ultimately the goal is to provide a look ahead or a look back into God's faithfulness and provision in our church body.
